NeighbourhoodsBellevue, a lakeside commune on Geneva's Right Bank
Bellevue, between Colovrex, Port-Gitana and the route Suisse: living environment, transport, schools and property, seen by a CI-Léman broker.

Contents
Bellevue occupies a stretch of Geneva's Right Bank, between Genthod and Pregny-Chambésy, with Lake Geneva as its frontage. The commune keeps a low profile in the cantonal landscape, yet it brings together several things buyers look for on this bank: proximity to the water, a direct rail link and a short distance to the city centre. This guide covers what defines the place day to day.
The living environment
The commune is made up of several areas that do not all look alike. Along the water, Port-Gitana anchors the lakeside part, with its moorings and direct access to the lake. Set a little further back, Colovrex forms a more rural hamlet, facing the fields and the hillside. Between the two lie Les Tuileries, Le Vengeron and Valavran, each with its own density. The result is a commune of varying character, where you move fairly quickly from a lakeside atmosphere to a more residential, green fabric. The shore and the port remain strong landmarks for those who live here.
Access and transport
Bellevue has the Genthod-Bellevue stop on the Léman Express line linking Coppet to Geneva. This is its main mobility asset: a few minutes by train are enough to reach Cornavin, without relying on the car at busy times. Les Tuileries station also serves part of the territory. The route de Lausanne, called the route Suisse on this stretch, runs through the commune and connects it to the centre as well as to neighbouring Vaud. Bus lines 50 and 52 complete the local network, and the nearby A1 motorway exit makes journeys to the airport easy.
Schools and families
Primary schooling is provided locally, with the school organised jointly with Genthod. Several buildings take in pupils from the area, including the school on the Port-Gitana side. For the next stage, families are attached to the region's cycle d'orientation (lower secondary school). The presence of schools, waterfront spaces and transport links makes the commune easy to read for households with children, without the constraints of an overly urban environment. Webster University, a private campus located in the commune, adds a more international note to the picture.
Architecture and property
Bellevue's built fabric is characterised by villas and estates, some of which enjoy a position directly on the lakeshore. These waterfront properties form the rarest and most sought-after segment of the commune. Moving inland, there are detached houses on more conventional plots, as well as a stock of apartments that remains modest. This variety of property types means buyer profiles vary widely from one area to another, from a family aiming for a house in Colovrex to a buyer drawn to a lakeside estate. Every sale therefore calls for a close reading of the neighbourhood concerned.
Our presence in Bellevue
CI-Léman has documented 3 sales in Bellevue since 2006. It is a modest volume, which we prefer to present as it is rather than inflate. It reflects a commune where transactions remain few and where every property has its own story. This local knowledge, even on a small number of files, helps us place a price correctly and understand what buyers really expect on this stretch of shore.
If you are thinking of selling a property in Bellevue, our sell page explains our approach to valuation and the mandate. And if you are looking to buy on the Right Bank, the buy page sets out how we support buyers.
