NeighbourhoodsCollonge-Bellerive and Vésenaz: lakeside living on the Left Bank
Quality of life in Collonge-Bellerive and Vésenaz: the harbour, the lakeshore and the villages of Geneva's Left Bank, with access, schools and property.

Contents
Collonge-Bellerive occupies a strip of land on the Left Bank of the lake, on the eastern edge of Geneva. The commune brings together several localities, including Collonge, Bellerive, La Capite, La Pallanterie, Saint-Maurice and Vésenaz. It is an area we follow closely, for clients looking to settle near the water while staying a short distance from the city centre.
Quality of life
Vésenaz is the commune's meeting point. Everyday shops, a medical centre, the post office and several services are grouped around the crossroads that leads the road towards Hermance and the lakeside communes. You can do your shopping without having to go into town.
Below, the lakeshore remains the commune's main asset. The Bellerive harbour shelters residents' boats and gives access to a few parks and stretches of shore open to the public. The view extends over the harbour basin and across to the Jura. This direct connection to the water accounts for much of the area's residential appeal, and it weighs on the value of properties with an open view of the lake.
Access and transport
The commune is linked to Geneva by the route de Thonon, which follows the shore and reaches the centre in a few minutes outside rush hour. Geneva Public Transport (TPG) buses serve Vésenaz and the neighbouring localities, with connections to the urban network. The trade-off, well known to residents, is the traffic that builds up at peak times on this single road along the lake. For those who work in town, the proximity remains a real comfort.
Schools and families
Collonge-Bellerive has its own communal primary schools, spread across the localities. For the rest of their schooling, pupils move on to the area's cycle d'orientation. Several of the canton's private schools are within reasonable distance on the Left Bank. The profile of families settling here owes much to this calm environment, the green spaces and the lake within walking distance.
Architecture and property
The commune's buildings are dominated by detached villas, often on generous plots, with a share of older properties and more recent builds. There are also residential buildings of moderate size, particularly around Vésenaz. The most sought-after properties remain those facing the lake or with access to the shore. Demand is steady and supply limited, which makes this a fairly tight market.
Our presence
We have worked this area for a long time. In Vésenaz, a locality of Collonge-Bellerive, CI-Léman has four documented sales since 2006, all villas. It is a modest volume, which we prefer to present as it is rather than draw averages that would be meaningless on so few transactions. This experience gives us a concrete reading of the ground, the neighbourhoods and the expectations of buyers and sellers alike on this part of the shore.
If you are considering a transaction in the commune, our Sell and Buy pages set out how we work and the first contact to make with a broker.
