Guide to Pregny-Chambésy: the Right Bank hillside, its two villages, the botanical garden, schools, access and residential property.

Contents
Pregny-Chambésy sits on a hillside on Geneva's Right Bank, a few kilometres from the city centre. The municipality overlooks the harbour of Lake Geneva and borders the Nations district, home to several international organisations. Its territory is divided between two villages, Pregny on the heights and Chambésy near the lake.
Why Pregny-Chambésy?
People settle in Pregny-Chambésy for its position between the lake and the international organisations district. The municipality keeps a residential, green character while remaining close to central Geneva, the airport and the Nations district. Its Léman Express and TPG bus connections make daily journeys easier.
Did you know
The Conservatoire et Jardin botaniques de la Ville de Genève has its main address in the municipality, on chemin de l'Impératrice. It is the largest public botanical garden in Switzerland, with its greenhouses, arboretum and research herbarium. The hillside also preserves several historic estates and their parks, including the Château de Penthes, which housed the Musée des Suisses dans le monde until 2022.
Pregny and Chambésy
The municipality brings together two villages of different character. Pregny spreads across the heights, with its large estates and parks overlooking the lake. Chambésy lies lower down, towards the route de Lausanne and the shore, around its station and historic hamlets.
Which schools are there in Pregny-Chambésy?
Pregny-Chambésy has public primary schools on its territory, including the école de Valérie. Secondary schooling falls under the cycle d'orientation (lower secondary school) assigned to the sector. The neighbouring Nations district is also home to international schools, attended by many families living on the Right Bank.
How do you get to Pregny-Chambésy?
Pregny-Chambésy is reached via the route de Lausanne, which runs along the lake from central Geneva. Chambésy station is served by the Léman Express. Several TPG bus lines connect the municipality to the rest of the canton. Geneva Airport and the Nations district are close by.
Architecture and property
Pregny-Chambésy's housing combines lake-view residences, detached villas and a few apartment buildings. The heights of Pregny retain large properties surrounded by parkland, while Chambésy has a more varied residential fabric near the station. Of the 575 sales documented by CI-Léman since 2006, one concerns Chambésy, in the municipality of Pregny-Chambésy.
