A wine village in the Mandement, on a hillside overlooking the Rhône, known for its Fête des Vendanges and served by the Léman Express.
Russin is a small municipality on Geneva's Right Bank, in the west of the canton, in the Mandement. The village is terraced on a hillside above the Rhône, surrounded by vineyards and fields, in one of the most distinctive wine landscapes in the canton. Wine defines the municipality's identity. Every autumn, the Russin Fête des Vendanges (grape harvest festival) brings together the wines of the region and ranks among the largest village festivals in the canton. The rest of the year, the village keeps a rural pace, away from the main roads. Housing is dominated by detached houses and wine estates, from old village houses to more recent villas. Building land is scarce in this small municipality where the vineyards frame development, which makes transactions infrequent.
Vineyards on the hillside, the banks of the Rhône, the Fête des Vendanges in autumn and a quiet village the rest of the year: Russin lives to the rhythm of the Mandement vineyards, in the west of the canton.
