The largest municipality in the canton by area and the largest wine-growing municipality in Switzerland: villages, Mandement vineyards, a Léman Express station and an industrial hub.
Satigny is the largest municipality in the canton of Geneva by area, on the Right Bank, at the heart of the Mandement. It is also the largest wine-growing municipality in Switzerland, with vineyards covering a large part of its territory and shaping its landscape. The municipality brings together several villages and hamlets, including Choully, Peissy, Bourdigny and Montfleury, around the town of Satigny and its former priory. Alongside the vineyards, the ZIMEYSA industrial zone is a major employment hub, which gives Satigny a dual character, rural and economic. Housing combines old village houses, wine estates and villas, as well as apartment buildings concentrated around the town centre and the station. An estate among the vines, a village villa and an apartment near the station belong to distinct markets.
Mandement vineyards as far as the eye can see, a town centre around the former priory, the hamlets of Choully and Peissy, the station and the ZIMEYSA employment hub: Satigny combines a vast wine-growing terroir with a lively municipality.
