Versoix is a municipality in the canton of Geneva on the right shore of the lake, between the city of Geneva and the Vaud border. It has just over 13'000 inhabitants and is organised around a centre crossed by the river of the same name, a landscaped lakefront and several hamlets. The municipality can be read as three areas. The lakefront includes Port-Choiseul and the Versoix-lac area, with the marina and the beach. The centre, around Versoix-Bourg and Pont-Céard station, concentrates shops, housing and amenities. Further out lie hamlets such as Écogia, Richelien, Petit-Saint-Loup and Sauverny. The housing stock combines apartment buildings, concentrated towards the centre and the station, and villa neighbourhoods in the more residential areas and the hamlets. The lakeside and the areas close to the stations remain the most sought after.

Yes. Versoix CFF station, on the Lausanne-Geneva line, connects the municipality directly to Geneva and Lausanne, and is served by the Léman Express, with a second stop at Pont-Céard.
Versoix has public primary schools (Montfleury, Bon-Séjour, Lachenal, Ami-Argand) and a cycle d'orientation (lower secondary school) at Les Colombières. On the international side, Collège du Léman takes pupils from kindergarten to secondary level, and the Geneva English School is located in the municipality.
