A rural commune in the south of the canton, on the border, where the farmland plateau gives way to vines on the slope: several hamlets around Compesières.
Bardonnex lies in the south of the canton of Geneva, on the Left Bank, along the French border. The commune brings together several hamlets: Bardonnex, Charrot, Compesières, Évordes, La Croix-de-Rozon and Landecy, each with its own scale. The character is rural: large farm plots dominate the plateau, while vines cover the south-facing slope. Compesières acts as the centre, with the commandery and the church housing the commune's administrative, religious and school functions. The building stock mixes village houses, farmhouses and more recent villas spread across the hamlets. Detached houses dominate, often on generous plots, and properties rarely change hands in this preserved setting.
Vine-covered slope to the south, cultivated plateau, the Compesières commandery and life spread across the hamlets: Bardonnex keeps a country pace, a short distance from Carouge and the city centre.

The commune brings together Bardonnex, Charrot, Compesières, Évordes, La Croix-de-Rozon and Landecy. Compesières is its centre, with its commandery and church, and houses the main administrative and school functions.
The market is dominated by detached houses and village houses, often on large plots spread across the hamlets. The farmland plateau and the vine-covered slope frame development, which limits supply and spaces out transactions.
