A country village on the left bank of the Rhône, next to the Moulin-de-Vert nature reserve, some twenty minutes from the centre.
Cartigny is a rural municipality on the left bank of the Rhône, in the south-west of the canton. The river and its bend shape the landscape, with the Moulin-de-Vert nature reserve close by, a former meander of the Rhône that has become a pond and a protected area. A large share of the territory remains agricultural, and the village has kept its historic scale around its church and square. The localities of La Petite-Grave and Eaumorte extend the core towards the countryside and the river. People come here for the calm and the closeness to nature. The housing stock is dominated by detached houses: old village houses, farms and more recent villas. Building land is scarce, which adds value to existing properties and makes each sale distinctive.
Walks in the Moulin-de-Vert reserve, paths along the Rhône, the village square and the Feuillu festival in spring: Cartigny lives to the rhythm of the countryside, a short distance from the city.
