West of the Geneva urban area, on the Left Bank, a municipality that brings together several villages and hamlets with a largely agricultural character.
Bernex lies west of the Geneva urban area, on the Left Bank. The municipality brings together several villages and hamlets (Bernex, Lully, Sézenove, Chèvres, Loëx, Challoux and Cressy) and retains a largely agricultural character, alongside more recent residential developments. The Rhône marks the municipality's boundary with Vernier and Satigny, while the Aire borders it on the Perly-Certoux side. The Signal de Bernex, its highest point at 506 metres, is the second-highest summit in the canton.
Bernex keeps a village scale: a large share of its land remains agricultural or wooded, and the built-up area is organised around several localities rather than a single centre. It offers a residential setting close to the countryside while remaining connected to the rest of the canton. The Catholic church of Saint-Maurice, built in 1864-1865 and listed since 1996, is among the municipality's notable heritage.

Yes. The municipality is served by the TPG tram, extended to Bernex, and by several TPG bus lines, with road access via western Geneva. The Rhône and the Aire border the municipality.
