A rural municipality in the east of the canton, between fields and vineyards, crossed by the restored Seymaz, a quarter of an hour from the centre.
Meinier is a rural municipality on Geneva's Left Bank, in the countryside of the east of the canton. Its overwhelmingly agricultural land brings together several localities, including Meinier, Corsinge and Compois, neighbouring Choulex and Collonge-Bellerive. The landscape combines fields, vineyards and watercourses. The restoration of the Seymaz, which crosses the municipality, has given space back to nature and shapes the character of this rural area, away from the main roads. Detached houses dominate the building stock, between old village houses, farms and more recent villas spread across the hamlets. Plots are scarce in this preserved setting, which makes transactions infrequent and each property unique.
Vineyards and fields, the restored course of the Seymaz, an old church and the hamlets of Corsinge and Compois: Meinier keeps a country pace a short distance from the urban Left Bank and the lake.
