The part of the municipality of Lancy closest to Geneva: bourgeois villas, large housing estates and a residential identity of its own.
Petit-Lancy occupies the part of the municipality of Lancy closest to the city of Geneva, on the Left Bank. The area developed in stages, around bourgeois villas built in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, then large housing estates that appeared in the middle of the last century. Distinct from Grand-Lancy, Petit-Lancy keeps an identity of its own, more residential and turned towards the immediate proximity of Geneva. The Ancien-Puits neighbourhood, in the central part, sums up the atmosphere of the area: detached houses and public facilities a short distance away, including Parc Navazza-Oltramare, Parc de Pré-Monnard and the municipal library. The built fabric reflects this gradual urbanisation: old villas on tree-lined plots, residential buildings from different periods and more recent detached houses. Two properties in the same neighbourhood can have very different features and values depending on their era, floor area, orientation and plot.
Parc Navazza-Oltramare, Parc de Pré-Monnard, the municipal library and the houses of the Ancien-Puits neighbourhood: Petit-Lancy offers a quiet local life while remaining on the doorstep of central Geneva.
